Wheel Repairs Canberra: Why Choose Us?

We Come to You

Mobile repairs are about convenience, but also about keeping things simple. You choose the location. If you are at home, we can work in the driveway. If you are at work, we can often repair it while you are inside. We arrive with the equipment needed for a professional cosmetic repair and set up around the wheel so we can work safely and neatly.

Fast Turnaround

Most single wheel cosmetic repairs take around 60 to 90 minutes once we are set up. We aim to get to you within 48 hours and often sooner, depending on bookings and your suburb. If you have more than one wheel, we will tell you the expected on-site time before we lock in the job.

24-Month Warranty

Every repair comes with a 24-month warranty. If you are not happy with the result, we will come back and fix it at no charge. We will also talk you through what to expect on the day, especially if the wheel has older paint, prior repairs, or a finish that has weathered over time.

Fully qualified technicians

Our Canberra technicians are qualified spray painters, trained by The Wheelman and fully insured. That matters for colour matching and blending, particularly on metallic paints and machine-faced styles where the finish can look different in sun versus shade.

Painted and machine-faced wheels

We repair painted and machine-faced wheels across most makes and models, from everyday hatchbacks through to BMW, Porsche and Tesla. The quickest way to confirm suitability is to text photos. If it is repairable via mobile service, we will tell you. If it needs workshop equipment, we will be direct about that too.

What We Repair

Our mobile service is designed for cosmetic damage such as:

  • kerb rash
  • scratches
  • scuffs
  • gutter marks
  • stone chips
  • peeling paint
  • and local surface blemishes.

If you are not sure what you are looking at, send a clear close-up and a wider shot of the full wheel. Photos in natural light help, especially for silver, gunmetal and darker finishes.

Our mobile service does not cover buckles, cracks, or structural damage. If you suspect a buckle, you might notice steering vibration at speed or a wheel that looks slightly out of round when it spins. If you suspect a crack, you might see a fine line near the inner barrel or lose tyre pressure repeatedly. In either case, we can point you in the right direction for assessment and repair.

How Our Mobile Repair Works

Once booked, we arrive and confirm the damage and the wheel finish. We check for signs the wheel needs structural work and, if everything is suitable for cosmetic repair, we prepare the area carefully. Preparation is where most of the quality comes from. The damaged area is cleaned, refined, and shaped so the repaired section blends into the original profile rather than looking like a patch.

From there, we prime and apply coatings suited to the wheel style, then cure the finish. Colour matching is done with the goal of a natural blend. Canberra’s light can be harsh, so we check the finish from a few angles before we pack up.

For machine-faced wheels, we will be upfront about what can be achieved on-site. Some machine-faced damage can be improved nicely via mobile repair, while other cases need a CNC lathe to restore the factory look.

To make the visit easy, it helps if the car is parked on a level surface with safe access around the wheel. If the wheels are hot from driving, letting them cool a little can also help. If the weather is not cooperating, we can often work under cover like a carport. If wind or rain will compromise the finish, we will offer options rather than force a rushed job.

Wheel Repair Pricing

Most mobile alloy wheel repairs in Canberra are priced between $140 and $200, depending on the extent of the damage and the type of wheel finish. Text us a photo and we will give you an accurate quote, usually within the hour during business hours.

If you have multiple wheels to repair, mention that when you message. Grouping repairs can make scheduling simpler and gives you one neat appointment instead of several.

Need More Than A Mobile Repair?

Some wheels need workshop equipment, especially if there are buckles, cracks, heavy gouging, or damage that requires a CNC lathe or a full respray. If that is your situation, we have access to fully equipped, dedicated wheel repair workshops that can handle tasks like:

  • TIG welding
  • wheel straightening
  • CNC profiling up to 22 inch diameter
  • and compliant spray booth refinishing with computer colour matching

If you send photos and describe what you are noticing, we will let you know the best path. The goal is to get the right outcome, not just the quickest option.

Our 7-point Wheelman Guarantee

We stand behind every repair we do. Our guarantee covers you from first contact through to after the work is complete. If you want the full detail, you can view the full guarantee on our website.

    Frequently asked questions

We assess the damage and confirm the wheel finish first. Then we prep the area, refine the damage, and rebuild the profile where needed. After priming, we apply a matched coating system and cure it. The aim is a clean blend that looks right in Canberra light, not a patchy touch-up.

Most mobile repairs in Canberra sit between $140 and $200 per wheel, depending on damage depth and wheel finish. The fastest way to price it accurately is a photo. Text clear images and your suburb, and we usually return a quote within the hour during business hours.

Most single wheel cosmetic repairs take around 60 to 90 minutes once we are set up. Multiple wheels will take longer, and we will set expectations before the booking. We also factor in safe curing time so you are not left guessing when the car is ready to drive again.

In many cases the repaired area is hard to pick, especially for common kerb rash on painted wheels. Some finishes and older wheels can show minor variation under certain angles, but the goal is always a tidy, even blend. We will talk you through likely results before we start.

Yes. Every repair comes with a 24-month warranty. If you are not satisfied with the outcome, we will come back and fix it at no cost. We also explain any limitations upfront, particularly where a wheel needs workshop machining to restore a factory machine-faced look.

We will tell you on the day, because it depends on the repair type and conditions. Usually it is a short wait for the finish to cure enough for normal driving. If you need to drive sooner due to work or school pickup, mention it and we will plan around it.

We mask and protect the surrounding panels and tyres carefully before any coating is applied. Overspray is very rare, but we do not brush it off if it happens. If there is any issue, we address it immediately on site so your car leaves the appointment clean.

Usually no. Because we typically repair the wheel on the car without removing it, balancing is not affected. If a wheel shows signs of a buckle or structural issue, that is a different problem, and we will recommend the right inspection or workshop process.
