Our mobile service does not cover buckles, cracks, or structural damage. If you suspect a buckle, you might notice steering vibration at speed or a wheel that looks slightly out of round when it spins. If you suspect a crack, you might see a fine line near the inner barrel or lose tyre pressure repeatedly. In either case, we can point you in the right direction for assessment and repair.
How Our Mobile Repair Works
Once booked, we arrive and confirm the damage and the wheel finish. We check for signs the wheel needs structural work and, if everything is suitable for cosmetic repair, we prepare the area carefully. Preparation is where most of the quality comes from. The damaged area is cleaned, refined, and shaped so the repaired section blends into the original profile rather than looking like a patch.
From there, we prime and apply coatings suited to the wheel style, then cure the finish. Colour matching is done with the goal of a natural blend. Canberra’s light can be harsh, so we check the finish from a few angles before we pack up.
For machine-faced wheels, we will be upfront about what can be achieved on-site. Some machine-faced damage can be improved nicely via mobile repair, while other cases need a CNC lathe to restore the factory look.
To make the visit easy, it helps if the car is parked on a level surface with safe access around the wheel. If the wheels are hot from driving, letting them cool a little can also help. If the weather is not cooperating, we can often work under cover like a carport. If wind or rain will compromise the finish, we will offer options rather than force a rushed job.
